01Where does this data come from?

Every figure comes from the Chicago Data Portal's 311 Service Requests dataset, the city's record since 2018, refreshed daily. This page drops two kinds of rows: information-only calls, which the city files at City Hall's address, and aircraft noise complaints, which all point at O'Hare. Neither says anything about a building.

02Do complaints show who filed them?

No. The public dataset carries no names or contact details. A report shows the complaints at an address and nothing about the people who filed them.

03Why does my address return nothing?

The dataset stores the street address alone with postal abbreviations, like 1543 N Lorel Ave. Search without an apartment or unit number. If nothing comes back, the city logged no request there in the last 12 months.
